Entry Level Operations/Fixed Income Trader

QCI Asset Management, Inc. is a wealth management firm located in Rochester, NY. We are seeking a self-motivated investment professional to work as a member of our Fixed Income Team. The role will be responsible for post-trade data entry, reconciliation, and settlements. Daily tasks include processing trades and maintaining portfolio, security, and other portfolio management system information. It also includes some trading compliance functions and reporting. The role requires excellent communication, both internally with traders and portfolio managers, and with external parties. This position has the potential to include further duties as part of the Fixed Income Team.

Job Description:

Conduct day to day trading operations including daily trade reconciling for stock, bond and mutual fund trades. System maintenance and data entry. Some portfolio management via trade order entry for mutual funds and stocks.

In charge of corporate actions and some compliance reporting.

Backup equity trader

Ad-hoc projects related to such things as compliance, data entry, and alternative asset setup and maintenance

Conduct research on current/prospective municipal bond holdings

Management and maintenance of bond portfolios via individual security and some ETF and mutual fund trade executions as authorized

Macro, individual, market and sector research and forecasting specifically as it relates to bond markets

Remain current in profession and industry trends

Education, Skills, and Experience

Bachelor s degree required with an emphasis in math, economics, and/or finance preferred, with a track record of academic achievement

1-3 years of relevant work experience in an investment or financial services role (entry-level candidates with relevant internships will be considered)

Fixed Income experience with knowledge of product area and its processes preferred

Experience trading and analyzing individual securities (corporate, municipal, and/or mortgage bonds) a plus .

Experience with related systems FactSet Portfolio Analysis and Bloomberg

Experience using a CRM and Portfolio Management System

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, charting data, formatting charts, complex formulas, etc.)

Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills

Working knowledge Microsoft Office products
