DESCRIPTION

The Loss Prevention Investigator isresponsible for all aspects of security, control of merchandise loss, andsafety of the building. The Loss Prevention Investigator may assist in leading the stores daily operations at times. This positionreports directly to the Assistant Store Manager, Operations.

  • Complete all store call procedures
  • Monitor store entrance and greet visitors
  • Explain, demonstrate, communicate and facilitate awarenessprograms, profit protection programs, and risk management programs
  • Operate and monitor CCTV system to detect incidents of dishonestyand violations of policy
  • Patrol the store to observe and identify suspicious activity
  • If certified: investigate, detain, and interview shoplifters
  • Initiate and assist in employee investigations, as well asidentify and report violations of company policy to management
  • Prepare reports and document all loss prevention incidents, secureevidence, and appear as witness in legal proceedings
  • Conduct associate injury and Public Liability accidentinvestigations
  • Prepare monthly safety reports and participate in monthly safetymeeting
  • Inspect, review, and audit key areas
  • Support the onboarding process for new associates and deliver technical training in areas of expertise
  • Objectively assess associate performance and provide feedback to management to address development opportunities
  • Foster a positive work environment by delivering recognition
  • Assist store team with preparation and execution of annualinventory
  • Be able to complete, and stay current, on all required LPtraining
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of Loss Prevention experience (retail environment preferred)

  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills and be multitask oriented

  • Must have strong organizational and problem solving skills

  • Requires the ability to perform general math computations and have basic computer skills

  • Ability to operate photographic and video equipment

  • Capable of performing some lifting of up to 35 pounds

  • Capable to climb ladders and work at heights

  • Loss Prevention Investigators must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on business need, which will include evenings, weekends and holidays.
