Financial Analyst
*Entry level, 6-month role with possibility of extension

Provide financial planning and analysis support to Therapeutic Area Units, with a focus on clinical trials (therapeutic area: gastrointestinal)
Monitor, report and analyze TAU R&D expenses in order to make the best use of the budget
Provide systems and analytical support to the TAU Support team to ensure effective and efficient provision of finance support services to TAU leadership

Support Clinical Trial Finance group with budgeting, reporting, variance analysis, and business partner requests
Contribute to the monthly close process by reviewing clinical study modeling inputs and related accruals
Ensure the accuracy of project spend tracking mechanisms
Ensure proper compliance with accrual methodology, budgeting/reporting processes, tools and policies/procedures standards within R&D Finance
Provide reporting and analytical support for reviews of Project Teams' direct spend budgets vs. plan and vs. actuals
Work with colleagues in Line Finance and Accounting to forecast and track alliance cost-sharing
Provide support to IT projects that are related to TAU Support

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics required (accounting okay but not needed)
1-2 years of work in financial reporting or financial planning or strategic planning preferred but not needed
Understanding of financial analysis methods, tools (SAP, IBM TM1, MS Excel) and concepts to perform analyses
Knowledge and experience in R&D area preferred but not needed - desire to work in pharma is all that is needed
Strategic vision ability to recognize, forecast and communicate events, which may impact the business
Communication ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner, including running meetings and preparing presentations
Analytical ability to determine methods and types of analyses to be performed to address a business question and to analyze a wide variety of data in order to make informed decisions
Teamwork ability to foster good working relationships among team members, and work effectively in and contribute to a team environment
