Reports to the Associate Director for HR Systems. Supports the delivery of university-wide HR Systems. The Senior Analyst will be a technical subject matter expert for the Harvard Training Portal (HTP). Initial focus will be to bring the Tier 1 incident management team up to speed on HTP. Ultimately will include projects in PeopleSoft HCM (HR, Payroll, Time and Labor, Absence Management, Talent Management, Pension and Benefits Administration modules), IBM/Kenexa (Staff Recruiting), Harvard Training Portal and other HR applications.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
As Senior Technical Analyst/Subject Matter Expert : Independently meets with business partners to discuss and document business needs, propose design and solutions. Attends conferences or webinars to be aware of the product road map and future functionality. Assist in transitioning HTP to Incident Management team by providing training to team. Provides Tier 1 support on Incident Management team and subject matter expertise for HTP Tier 2 support or whenever needed by a user or a team member. Identify system and configuration changes needed to meet business priorities and users needs. This includes creating or changing reports, data feeds, APIs, audiences and rules.
Participates in the team s production support activities : Participate in the weekly production support rotation during business hours. Ensure that users requests and incidents are resolved within our SLAs. Monitor nightly data feeds and troubleshoot issues with vendor and/or Harvard IT team. Work with the vendor to monitor SLAs and escalate issues.
Independently works on smaller scale projects as a n individual contributor and/or project coordinator. Establishes and monitors the project plan s deadlines. Participates in meetings with end users and business owners. Designs system solutions within the scope of the project; validates the solution with the users and other analysts/developers before implementing them. Ensures that the solution fits in the existing system design, is maintainable over time, and is understood by the users. Provides training to end users if needed. Documents the solution to ensure that other analysts can support it. Provides regular status updates to the product manager and escalates issues when appropriate.
Participates in HTP Upgrades : Perform fit/gap analysis and conduct testing of tri-annual upgrades. Test new functionality. Work with the vendor to report issues found in testing. Identify workarounds for issues found and not fixed in time for production.
Participates in PeopleSoft releases : works independently to document, configure and test enhancements and fixes. Identifies and documents functional specifications and comprehensive test cases. Executes the test cases during System Testing (TST) and Integration testing (INT). Collaborates with the technical team, other analysts, and/or vendor to ensure complete integration of solutions across systems and areas. Signs off on testing. Works with end-users and vendors to obtain their sign off during testing, as appropriate. Provides end-user documentation and training if needed.
Mentors other analysts in area of expertise by reviewing other analysts work, answering questions and conducting informal or formal training sessions.
Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement or process changes for the team and makes suggestions to implement those changes.

Minimum of five years' post-secondary education and/or relevant work experience
The following qualifications are preferred :
Prior experience with Saba is preferred.
Prior experience at a University is a plus.
Prior experience with the Agile methodology and User Experience/Design Thinking is preferred.
Demonstrated team performance skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor
Certificates and Licenses
Completion of Harvard IT Academy specified foundational courses (or external equivalent) preferred
