Job Description:

This role reports to the Finance Head of US Rare and Rare Blood Disorder (RBD). The Financial Manager will be responsible for financial management of US RBD s operational expenses, including both actual and planning activities. This role will have regular interactions with all levels of the US RBD business partners.

Specifically, this role will focus on the following responsibilities with additional exposure possible:

  • Leading the Business Partners through the all planning cycles (budget, forecast, and strategic plan) and facilitating trade-off decisions as needed
  • Provide monthly financial reporting packages to the Business Partners, including detailed analysis of variances to budget and forecast for headcount and external expenses
  • Analyze actual reporting and communicate effectively within the business and finance teams on drivers of major deviations
  • Manage all aspects of the financial close activities, including booking month-end journal entries, and performing account reconciliations
  • Review headcount reporting, ensuring alignment with Business Partners
  • Approval of financial activities, including purchase requisitions
  • Performing ad hoc analyses and reporting for Business Partners (i.e., provide financial analytics for business cases)
  • Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 5 to 7 years of relevant financial planning experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
  • Strong accounting skills and internal controls
  • Advanced Excel and financial analytics skills
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic culture with experience in driving improvements, defining processes and guiding business partners
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and demonstrated success building partnership across the organization
  • Independent self-starter, with a strong sense of ownership of driving for results
  • Strong attention to detail and data quality
  • Strong organizational skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Knowledge of Hyperion/Essbase, TM1 Cognos and SAP preferred
  • Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline in required
  • A CPA or MBA is preferred but not required
