In Consumer Banking,Citizens provides an integrated experience that includes mobile and onlinebanking, a 24/7 customer contact center and the convenience of approximately2,900 ATMs and approximately 1,100 branches in 11 states in the New England,Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions. ConsumerBanking products and services include a full range of banking, lending,savings, wealth management and small business offerings.

This highly visiblerole provides communications counsel and thought leadership focused onsupporting and advancing our branch network and contact center strategicpriorities. The Strategic Communications Director creates best-in-classinternal communications to drive alignment around business objectives, deepenawareness and engagement, and support business line and companygoals. You will envision and execute communications strategies andmessaging through diverse tactics and channels (e.g., video, intranet,presentations, conferences, social media). You will also ensurealignment with corporate messaging and brand by building and nurturingpartnerships with business and functional colleagues.

Primaryresponsibilities include:

  • Strategic communications planning: Manage business line executive communications strategic plans and communication programs in support of organizational goals. Shape and guide the excitement and education of our colleagues through engaging communications.
  • Change management: Using change management methodologies, plan thoughtful approach to organizational change and help colleagues at all levels and different starting points understand how change impacts them.
  • Stakeholder relationship management: Partner closely with senior leaders and key colleagues (e.g., Media relations, Social Media, Sales, Strategy, and Learning and Development) to drive the development and ongoing management of communications plans and strategies.
  • Tactical execution: Drive execution of plan (directly and through influence of partners). Identify key metrics and measurement plan to ensure communication activities are efficient, effective and scalable.
  • Qualifications
  • Proven communication skills, with experience in influencing and negotiating at a Senior / Executive level
  • Communications program planning and management
  • Writing for diverse audiences
  • Executive communications
  • Driving change through effective communications; experience with change management methodologies
  • Communication metrics development and analysis
  • Cross-functional relationship building
  • Presentation development and design; delivery of presentations and pitch documents
  • PreferredSkills/Experience:

  • 7+ years experience in Communications / Executive Communications
  • 7+ years experience in working within a large / complex organization
  • Experience as a communicator in a retail environment
  • Experience in financial services is highly valued, but not required
  • Knowledge of change management concepts
  • Education,Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred: Master's Degree preferably in communications, journalism, or marketing
  • Change Management Certification or significant application at work
  • Hours and Work Schedule

    Hours per Week: 40

    Work Schedule: 8:00am - 5:00pm; Monday - Friday
