The Senior Financial Analyst supports key business decisions through analysis, modeling, and reporting related to budgeting and forecasting, variance analysis, and other ongoing financial management. The analyst will provide financial information, analysis, and projections to stakeholders and work with them to recommend actions; synthesize, identify insights from, and provide concise commentary on key financial information; support long-range planning and ad-hoc business decisions; produce monthly and quarterly financial reporting and dashboards. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and communication skills, with an ability to both summarize information and communicate key messages. This role involves working closely with other members of the finance team as well as colleagues across our administration and research groups.

? Major responsibilities of this position:

  • Working closely with colleagues from finance and other relevant stakeholders, provide budget management and financial support for the Institute s operations
  • Support development of annual budget and periodic forecasts, as well as preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting
  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support business decisions
  • Prepare and present financial analyses to diverse audiences, including scientific and administrative leadership, in order to support decision making and promote general understanding of finance throughout the Broad community
  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in finance or relevant experience
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate with others at all levels, including senior leadership
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills, use of PowerPoint, and memo writing skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage tasks in light of competing priorities
  • Experience working with financial and human resources systems (ERP) data and analysis tools
  • Desired Qualifications:

  • MBA, or an Advanced Degree in Business, Finance, or Economics
  • Experience working in a non-profit environment
  • A continuous improvement mindset
