U.S. Foreign Casualty Sr. Underwriting Specialist East Coast

AIG Multinational Casualty is seeking a self-motivated, experienced professional to serve in the role of U.S. Foreign Casualty Sr. Underwriting Specialist, based in New York.

Foreign Casualty is the complex account practice within the AIG Multinational Casualty Division. The position is tasked conducting all underwriting tasks for a multi-million dollar U.S. based foreign casualty portfolio. Account profile includes large guaranteed cost, loss sensitive and captive programs consisting of Foreign General Liability, Foreign Voluntary Compensation/Employers Liability and Foreign Auto Liability/Physical Damage. This is a highly technical, large account underwriting role, which also includes major broker and customer relationship management.

Preferred candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of international commercial casualty underwriting experience and 5 years of management experience. Candidates with significant domestic risk management casualty underwriting and leadership experience as well as established brokerage and customer relationships are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Own all aspects of the underwriting and services processes for a complex multinational assigned book of business.
• Successfully execute on growth, retention and profitability goals and objectives as assigned by regional leadership.
• Contribute to portfolio growth, retention and profitability strategies, by effectively coordinating with divisional leadership, regional distribution partners and domestic divisional colleagues to deliver AIG's Multinational value proposition to brokers and customers.
• Adhere to underwriting best practices and guidelines, in accordance with U.S. Multinational Casualty Home Office directives, to ensure rating, pricing, profitability, and structuring adequacy.
• Ensure high levels of relationship building with key current and prospective customers.

Preferred Skills:

• Strong large account technical commercial casualty underwriting skills; Guaranteed Cost and Risk Management
• Analytical and quantitative skills; familiarity with actuarial concepts.
• Versatile selling and communication skills; demonstrated large account and broker relationship experience preferred
• Time management and complex process management skills preferred
• Strong influencing and skills and ability to work across multiple areas of company and industries.

Other:

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
• Min of 5+ Years of Large Account Commercial Casualty Underwriting Experience
