Overview The Industry Analyst Relations Senior Manager position will support strategy development, planning and facilitation of external communications to the important industry analyst community. Reporting to the Director Global Analyst Relations, this role includes managing and coordinating engagement and communications between Akamai and the highly influential industry analysts that report, write and speak about trends and best practices in the security, technology and Internet sectors. The Industry Analyst Relations Senior Manager will work closely with Akamai's Analyst Relations team, to support Akamai's rapidly growing security business by engaging Akamai executives, product marketing and product management teams to develop strategy and execute tactics to position Akamai's solutions and thought leadership in security to industry analysts. This role is focused on: 1) educating all analysts that cover security markets in which Akamai participates, 2) tracking trends and analyst opinion in key areas for Akamai's executive, marketing and product teams, 3) marketing and packaging analyst coverage of Akamai, themes and insights to key internal stakeholders. Specific responsibilities include: Develop analyst engagement plans & programs that support Akamai product and solution teams including initiatives that span the product lifecycle from requirements definition to product launch. * Scheduling briefings and interviews with analysts and facilitating briefings and interviews as needed. * Maintaining the analyst database, including prioritization, updating contact information, research focus and Akamai interactions. * Supporting the coordination of Analyst Events, including summits, networking events, and event participation as well as a quarterly industry analyst newsletter. * Working with the Akamai Communications and Marketing teams to leverage the industry analysts and their research in media relations, marketing collateral and events. * Managing the citation and report distribution approval processes, including monitoring subscription research to find appropriate quotes, and contacting analyst firms for permission to use quotes and reports. * Tracking industry analyst research calendars and published reports to maximize opportunities for engagement and to leverage results. * Monitor and prioritize Analyst Events and analyst participation in industry events to maximize engagement and interactions. About the Team Akamai's global, corporate communications team is responsible for driving awareness and understanding of the company and its services. Other functions on the team include public relations, market intelligence, executive communications, internal communications, social media, and brand marketing. Required Education and Experience Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements: * 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree * 8 years of relevant experience and a Master's degree Required Skills * Bachelor's degree in communications or computer science fields * Minimum of 12 years of experience in technology marketing * 6+ years in high technology analyst relations, PR, marketing or product marketing in the technology services industry (corporate or agency) * 6+ years of experience in Internet content delivery, Web application acceleration or Security sectors Desired skills: * Strong knowledge of analyst relations best practices, processes, and planning * Demonstrated experience working with key industry analyst firms for both inbound and outbound activities. * Strong analytical ability to assess research relevance. * Experience in writing for the marketing of high tech solutions/products. * Ability to work effectively on multiple projects in a fast-paced team environment. * Strong computer skills and familiarity with online research tools.
